Moving with the Seasons - Autumn Connection
with the Anam Cara Community

27 September - 4 October (starts Thursday evening 6pm)

Farewell to 'Time for Trees'

We have been growing trees on the croft for twenty years, fourteen of which were held under the banner of 'Time for Trees'. Sadly it has come to a sudden end with the recent discovery of New Zealand flatworm in our tree nursery. Remedial treatment to ensure the trees are free of this invasive species is time consuming and not practical on the scale of our operation. It is with this realisation that we have reluctantly taken the decision to close the nursery.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the hundreds of folk who have participated in our tree weeks over the years, which have always been such joyous and productive events. Sad as this decision is, we can be justifiably proud of the fact that we have produced in excess of half a million trees!

Introducing 'Moving with the Seasons'

With the closing of the tree nursery, we have created a new offering: ‘Moving with the Seasons’, which combines aspects of our popular work weeks alongside a deeper sense of retreat. Defined as four seasonal retreats, each week will be shaped by a daily rhythm of morning work periods out on the land, with the rest of the day devoted to a range of creative, stimulating and nourishing activities led by members of the Anam Cara community.

The relaxed nature of these weeks will include meditation, bodywork, saunas as well as wholesome communally prepared food, to rejuvenate and nurture body and soul. Individual massage and healing sessions will be available for an additional fee.

Autumn Connection

27 September – 4 October (starts Thursday evening 6pm)

Harvest time on the croft brings opportunity for gratitude and celebration. With the fruits harvested from the croft, we’ll make jams and chutneys as a communal activity. Mindful tending gives opportunity to connect with the earth as we tidy the garden, turn the compost and prepare for winter. We’ll celebrate the season’s abundance with the decoration of the barn in preparation for a Croft Ceilidh, with feasting, dancing and making merry!
